Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended his warm congratulations to Muslims nationwide on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement released on Sunday in Ibadan, his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, conveyed the senator’s message. Senator Alli urged Muslims to reflect deeply on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and their relevance in contemporary society.
He highlighted the virtues of peace, love, and tolerance exemplified by the Prophet throughout his life, stressing their importance in today’s world. Senator Alli emphasized that these principles should guide Muslims, especially in an era where global harmony is often under threat.
“The Prophet’s life serves as a timeless model for all humanity, transcending religious and cultural boundaries,” Alli remarked. “As we celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, let us recommit ourselves to justice, compassion, and mutual respect, core tenets of the Prophet’s teachings.”
The senator called for a renewed effort to promote peace and national unity, reflecting the Prophet’s legacy of fostering understanding and cooperation. He stressed that such values are crucial for Nigeria’s progress and harmony.
Senator Alli also appealed for unity among Nigerians, warning that divisions along religious, ethnic, or political lines could impede national development. He congratulated the Muslim community in Oyo South and across Nigeria on their successful observance of Maulud.
In his concluding remarks, Senator Alli prayed for continued blessings, guidance, and protection for all citizens and reaffirmed his dedication to the socio-economic development of Oyo South and Nigeria. He also called for cooperation and prayers for the nation’s leaders to govern with wisdom and justice.
