

Stakeholders in Ibadanland laud the seamless conclusion of the 14th edition of the Biennial Police Games, dubbed “Oluyole 2024,” hosted by the Oyo State government. The event, which welcomed over 4,000 Police officers nationwide, including the Inspector General of Police (IGP), underscores Oyo State’s leadership among its peers.
In a joint statement, President of Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, and Coordinator of the Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, hailed the game as a historic success, praising its impeccable organization and significant economic impact on Ibadan and Oyo State.
The commendation extended to Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success, with special acknowledgment to Honorable Ogunwuyi and CP Fatai Owooseni for their contributions to the Sports fiesta.
Furthermore, the statement applauded the governor’s efforts in providing top-notch facilities, notably the newly renovated Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba, which served as the venue for the captivating opening and closing ceremonies, enhancing the overall spectacle of the game fiesta.
The pivotal role of Mogajis in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the event was also highlighted, with their notable presence adding vibrancy, particularly during the closing ceremony, where awards of recognition were presented to distinguished guests, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented at the occasion.
Notable dignitaries present at the closing ceremony included the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, former IGP Usman Alkali, and other esteemed personalities, underscoring the significance of the Oluyole 2024 Police Games in fostering unity and excellence.
