CAC REGIONAL SUPERINTENDENT URGES NEW OGBOMOSHO DCC LEADER TO MAKE CHRIST HIS GREATEST GAIN

The Regional Superintendent of Babalola Region of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Gabriel Segun Dada, has charged the newly inducted Superintendent of Ogbomosho District Coordinating Council (DCC), Pastor Emmanuel Ayodele Babalola, to make Jesus Christ the centre of his ministry and remain focused on eternal values rather than the fleeting attractions of the world.
Pastor Dada gave the charge while preaching at the induction service of Pastor Babalola, held at CAC Oke-Ayo, Ogbomosho, on Sunday October 18, 2026. He urged the new DCC Superintendent and his wife to remain steadfast in their faith, trusting in the redemptive power of the blood of Jesus Christ and refusing to be distracted by material possessions, worldly status or the pressures of leadership.
Speaking on Philippians 3:7, which states, “But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ,” the regional superintendent explained that Apostle Paul considered his former achievements and privileges insignificant compared with the surpassing value of knowing Jesus Christ.
According to him, Christians must understand that the greatest achievement in life is not the accumulation of wealth, recognition or earthly accomplishments, but a personal relationship with Christ. He therefore advised Pastor Babalola and his wife to make Christ their priority and remain willing to surrender anything that could hinder their walk with God.
Pastor Dada further stressed that the circumstances surrounding a Christian’s death were less important than the person’s relationship with Christ and the eternal outcome of their life. He cited the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, who suffered despite being without sin, explaining that what appeared to be a moment of defeat ultimately became the foundation of humanity’s redemption and God’s glory.
He warned that religious activities without a genuine relationship with Christ could not guarantee salvation, urging believers to embrace authentic faith rather than mere outward religiosity.
Addressing the newly inducted superintendent, Pastor Dada charged him to allow Christ to guide his decisions and leadership as both a minister of the gospel and the administrative head of the Ogbomosho DCC. He emphasised the need to lead with the fear of God, love, integrity and impartiality, noting that faithful service would ensure that his labour in God’s vineyard did not become fruitless.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the DCC Secretary, Evangelist Michael O. Oyedare, expressed appreciation to Pastor Dada for personally conducting the induction ceremony rather than delegating the responsibility to a representative.
Oyedare described the regional superintendent’s presence as a demonstration of commitment to the district and assured him that the gesture would not be taken for granted.
He also appreciated the leadership of Christ Apostolic Church, particularly its President, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, and other members of the church’s leadership team, for appointing Pastor Babalola to lead the district. He described the appointment as an answer to the prayers of the DCC following the death of its former superintendent, Pastor J. S. Adegoke.
According to him, Pastor Babalola had demonstrated commitment and dedication to duty since assuming office, expressing optimism that his leadership would further strengthen the district’s spiritual growth and administrative development.
The DCC secretary also paid tribute to the late Pastor Adegoke, acknowledging his tireless contributions to the growth of CAC Oke-Ayo, Ogbomosho, and his leadership guided by the fear of God. He noted that the late superintendent had worked diligently to advance the church beyond the level at which he met it.
Oyedare said the district would continue to remember the late cleric’s contributions and prayed that God would sustain his family and protect those he left behind.
He urged Pastor Babalola not to relent in his commitment to the growth of the district, outlining key areas requiring sustained attention. These included evangelism, revival programmes and open-air crusades, which he described as essential to expanding the church’s outreach across Ogbomosho and its environs.
He also appealed for greater attention to the welfare, career advancement and promotion of ministers who had served diligently for years without corresponding progression. In addition, he called for regular training and retraining programmes for ministers and other church workers to strengthen their capacity for effective ministry.
The DCC secretary further appealed to ministers, subordinate officers, co-workers and members of the district’s executive to cooperate with and support the new superintendent. He urged them to uphold him in prayer, work faithfully with him and contribute meaningfully to the success of his administration.
Oyedare identified prayer, holiness, integrity and inclusive leadership as essential qualities for ministerial success, advising Pastor Babalola to carry all stakeholders along in the discharge of his responsibilities.
He also commended the wife of the new superintendent, Lady Evangelist E. A. Babalola, for her support for her husband since their resumption at CAC Oke-Ayo DCC, despite the demands of the ministry God had entrusted to her. He prayed that God, who had brought the couple to Ogbomosho, would continue to guide and strengthen them for a successful assignment.
The DCC secretary concluded by calling on members of the church to remain faithful and committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Ogbomosho and neighbouring communities.
In his response, Pastor Emmanuel Ayodele Babalola expressed gratitude to Almighty God for His faithfulness and for bringing him to the new assignment.
He appreciated the leadership of Christ Apostolic Church, led by Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, as well as the General Superintendent, Pastor Odejobi; the General Evangelist, Pastor Hezekiah Oludeji; and other senior officials of the church for the confidence reposed in him.
The new superintendent also commended Pastor Dada for personally attending the induction despite his busy schedule, praying for God’s protection and journey mercies for him on his return trip.
He expressed appreciation to all dignitaries, ministers, members and well-wishers who travelled from far and near to identify with him on the occasion, assuring them that he deeply valued their presence and support. He prayed that God would grant each of them similar occasions of joy.
Pastor Babalola equally thanked the DCC executives, members and the entire church community for the love and cooperation extended to him since his resumption. He pledged to remain faithful to God, uphold the principles of godly leadership and discharge his responsibilities diligently with divine guidance.
He, however, solicited the continued prayers, cooperation and support of the ministers, church workers and members, expressing confidence that collective commitment would enable the district to achieve its spiritual and administrative objectives.
