Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos State extended a warm welcome to Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff of Nigeria, as he graced Lagos with his presence.
The meeting between the Governor and the Army Chief was not only an honor but also marked by a productive discussion on the Army’s unwavering dedication and professionalism in ensuring peace and security throughout Nigeria.
The commendable commitment of the Nigerian Army to upholding the constitution and safeguarding the nation’s peace did not go unnoticed, and expressions of appreciation were conveyed for their sacrifices in various operations across the country.
During this significant encounter, the Governor sought the Army’s cooperation in vital areas, including the clearance of illegal shanties along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and support for ongoing enforcement efforts, such as the Okada ban. Furthermore, a commitment was made to support the rebuilding of a military primary school in Orile that had been dismantled for the construction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Looking towards the future, the Governor emphasized the pivotal role of collaboration among security agencies in maintaining safety in Lagos. The call was clear: a collective effort is needed to keep the city safe for everyone.
