Ibadan, Oyo State – March 10, 2025 – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Oyo State has honored Mrs. Oriyomi Pamela Otuka, the Curator of the National Museum of Unity in Ibadan, as the 2025 International Women’s Day Icon, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to public service and her pivotal role in nation-building.
The special recognition took place during the International Women’s Day celebration at the National Museum of Unity in Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan, on Monday, March 10, 2025. Dr. Olukemi Afolayan, the Director of NOA in Oyo State, presented the award to Mrs. Otuka, commending her dedication to preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage and fostering national unity.
“Mrs. Otuka’s tireless efforts in promoting national unity and safeguarding our cultural heritage have made a significant impact,” said Dr. Afolayan. “Her work at the National Museum of Unity speaks volumes about her commitment to the growth and development of our nation.”
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Otuka expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NOA for the prestigious recognition. She acknowledged the contributions of her staff and partners, highlighting that their collective efforts have been instrumental in achieving the museum’s mission of preserving Nigeria’s diverse cultural history.
