Oyo NOA, BCOS Deepen Partnership as Station Offers 50% Discount on Public Enlightenment Jingles
In a bid to enhance public enlightenment and civic awareness in Oyo State, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) have strengthened their collaborative ties, with BCOS announcing a 50% reduction in airtime cost for NOA jingles.
The development followed a courtesy visit by the Oyo State Director of NOA, Mrs. Ajolayo Sinmiat Akande, to the BCOS headquarters in Ibadan on Wednesday. The visit formed part of her ongoing familiarization tour since assuming office.
During the visit, Mrs. Ajolayo delivered goodwill messages from the Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, to the Chairman of BCOS, Chief (Mrs.) Dotun Olaitan, alongside members of the management and staff of the station. She commended BCOS for its unwavering support of NOA’s programs, describing the station as a strategic ally in the agency’s mission to reorient citizens and promote national values.
“Like Oliver Twist, we are here to ask for more — more synergy, more collaboration — because we both share a passion for building a better Nigeria that can stand tall among the nations of the world,” Mrs. Ajolayo said.
The NOA boss emphasized the agency’s desire to deepen its relationship with BCOS through more impactful partnerships that would ensure the continued dissemination of government policies, civic values, and national unity messages to the grassroots.
In her remarks, the Chairman of BCOS, Chief (Mrs.) Dotun Olaitan, expressed delight at the visit and welcomed the new NOA leadership to the station. She recalled the close collaboration the station enjoyed with the immediate past NOA State Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Olukemi Afolayan, and assured Mrs. Ajolayo of continued partnership.
Chief Olaitan highlighted the urgent need for greater patriotism among Nigerians, urging citizens to regularly speak positively about the country and to pray for its peace and progress.
As a concrete show of support for NOA’s mandate, she announced a 50% discount on all NOA jingles produced and aired on BCOS, encouraging the agency to maximize the opportunity by creating more patriotic and engaging content.
“We want to support messages that make people say every day, ‘God bless Nigeria,’” she said.
In response, Mrs. Ajolayo expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, pledging that the NOA would take full advantage of the offer to expand its public enlightenment campaigns and further drive civic education across the state.
She reaffirmed NOA’s dedication to promoting unity, peace, and responsible citizenship, while also commending BCOS for its consistent commitment to public service broadcasting.
The visit ended on a warm and optimistic note, as both parties looked forward to a more fruitful and impactful partnership in the months ahead.
