As Nigeria joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan, Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Oyo State, emphasized the need for heightened investment in women to drive national progress.
Addressing attendees at a program organized by the NOA at its headquarters in Agodi, Ibadan, Dr. Afolayan urged women to unite and support each other, highlighting the importance of self-celebration within society.
Under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” retired medical practitioner Dr. Adamito Iyun underscored the significance of investing in women to enhance their skills and opportunities, stressing that such investments are pivotal for national prosperity and sustainable development. He encouraged women to actively participate in all facets of life without fear of intimidation.
Echoing these sentiments, former State Director of NOA in Oyo State, Baale Moshood Olaleye, emphasized the profitability of investing in women due to their multiplier effects on society.
Members of staff lauded the NOA management for organizing a thought-provoking program to celebrate women, recognizing its potential positive impact on families.
