The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has expressed deep condolences to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and the family of the late Chief Isaac Omodewu, who passed away recently. Chief Omodewu was the Chairman of the APC in Oyo State and a former Commissioner for Lands and Housing.

In a statement released on behalf of the NUJ by the Acting Chairman, Seye Ojo, and the Secretary, Sola Oladapo, the union conveyed its profound shock and sorrow over the sudden demise of Chief Omodewu. The NUJ highlighted the significant impact of Omodewu’s leadership both within the APC and across Oyo State.

The union praised Chief Omodewu’s exceptional leadership qualities, noting his commitment to unity and the growth of the APC. “His invaluable contributions to the political landscape of Oyo State will be remembered for years to come,” the statement read.

Describing Omodewu as more than just a political leader, the NUJ emphasized that he was a “pillar of strength and a beacon of guidance” for many within the state. His passing, according to the union, is particularly painful as it comes at a time when his experience and leadership were most needed.

The NUJ extended prayers for strength and comfort to Omodewu’s family and urged continued prayers for the repose of his soul. The union also expressed solidarity with the APC in Oyo State as they navigate this profound loss.

Alhaji Ademola Babalola, the Chairman of NUJ in Oyo State, is currently on a month-long vacation.
