The residents of Apata Community in Ibadan South West Local Government of Oyo State are filled with gratitude towards Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other party leaders for their support in restoring electricity to the community, according to a statement released by Senator Alli’s Special Adviser on Monday.
For over six months, the community had been enduring the hardship and discomfort caused by the lack of electricity. However, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) successfully repaired the faulty transf
ormer that had plunged the community into darkness, thanks to Senator Alli’s generous donation of N500,000.
The act of philanthropy by Senator Alli has not only brought light back into the community but has also instilled hope and faith in the ability of public officials to address the needs of the people.
.The restoration of electricity has brought immense joy and relief to the entire Apata Community.
The Chairman of the Apata Landlord and Landladies’ Association, Mr. Semiu Irorunnitemi, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Senator Alli for his timely intervention.
He mentioned that the senator’s substantial financial contribution greatly aided in the repair of the transformer and the restoration of electricity to the community.
He remarked that without Senator Alli’s assistance, the repair of the transformer may have been delayed indefinitely.
Mr. Olakunle Ogunfemi, the APC Chairman of Ward 12, Apata, echoed his appreciation for Senator Alli’s support. He commended the senator and his party for their contributions towards restoring electricity to the community. Mr.
Ogunfemi recalled a town hall meeting held during the electioneering period where the Chairman of the landlord association spoke on behalf of the community. He mentioned that the community had supported the APC during the elections.
When the transformer was burnt, Mr. Ogunfemi reached out to Senator Alli, who intervened with a donation of N500,000 to repair the transformer.
He contrasted this with their unsuccessful attempt to seek assistance from the PDP lawmaker, Rep. Stanley Olajide, who rejected their plea due to their lack of support during the elections.
Mr. Ogunfemi expressed deep gratitude to Senator Alli for being responsive to their plight and ensuring that the community’s needs were met.
The success of the restoration project was made possible through the collective efforts of several key individuals in the community.
Mr. Ogunfemi extended his thanks to the APC Chieftain, Chief Wale Ohu, as well as Architect Joseph Omoniyi, the APC Chairman in the Local Government, for their significant roles in mobilizing resources and rallying support.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Kehinde Subair, a former Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Prince Niyi Oshokoya, and Elder Adekunle Salisu.
The recent restoration of electricity to Apata Community is a testimony to the power of collective action and the impact that dedicated public officials and leaders can have on the lives of the people they serve.
