The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has congratulated its Deputy National President, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, on her appointment as the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for NUJ’s 70th Anniversary.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Lagos Council, Comrade Adeleye Ajayi and Tunde Olalere.
Reacting to the appointment, the Chairman of NUJ Lagos State Council, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi, described Dr. Oyetunde as a woman of great ideas and vast experience.
“This appointment is well deserved. Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde is knowledgeable, highly exposed, a team player, and a goal-getter.
“I am confident that her committee will exceed expectations due to her competence, leadership style, and professionalism.
“We also extend our congratulations to our National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, and all journalists in Nigeria for this significant milestone,” he said.
Ajayi reaffirmed NUJ’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its members and urged journalists to remain steadfast in their duties.
He added that the Union would continue making remarkable strides as it looks forward to a successful anniversary celebration.
