Ibadan Explosion: Chief Alloy Obi Expresses Condolences to Makinde, Olubadan, and Victims
In his reaction to the recent explosion in the Bodija area of Ibadan, High Chief Alloy Obi, the Onyendu Ndigbo (Igbo Leader) of Ibadanland and Oyo State, extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, and the people affected by the tragedy.
Through a statement released by his media office, representing the Ndigbo community in Oyo State, Obi expressed deep sympathy towards the families of the deceased and other victims, describing the event as both tragic and deeply saddening.
Distressed and disheartened by the news, the Igbo Leader prayed for the eternal rest of those who perished and for strength for their families during this difficult time. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Obi commended Governor Makinde for the state government’s prompt response and effective handling of the situation, saving numerous lives. He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the explosion to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Obi remarked, “The news of the incident left me devastated and heartbroken. I am, however, grateful for Governor Makinde’s swift action, which saved many lives. It’s crucial that the government thoroughly investigates this incident to avert such tragedies in the future.
