On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Engr Ademola Agoro, Vice President of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), launched a free robotics technical college in Erinmo Ijesha, Osun State.

This college, established as part of the 37th remembrance of his late father, Pa Joshua Alaba Agoro, aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and industrial 4.

The school, equipped with state-of-the-art learning facilities and staffed by knowledgeable teachers, seeks to create a conducive learning environment for its students.

Engr Ademola Agoro, who is also the Managing Director and CEO of Protogy Global Services Limited, expressed his desire to give the youths in the community a chance to excel and compete with their urban counterparts.

In addition to the primary school previously established in honor of his mother, Engr Ademola Agoro felt it was important to establish a secondary technical school to ensure the educational development of the children in the community.

The technical college will focus on robotics, AI, and industrial 4, providing an alternative education path for those who may not wish to attend a regular technical college.

The funding for the school will come from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Protogy Global Services Limited and its partners both within and outside Nigeria.

Engr Ademola Agoro emphasized that the school will only admit students who are ready and serious about their education.

Agoro called on well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate with the government in rescuing the nation’s educational sector, as he believes that the government alone cannot bear the responsibility.

He attributed his decision to establish the school to his father’s legacy and his commitment to the educational growth of his people.

The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Oba Michael Ajayi Arowotawaya I, expressed his gratitude towards Engr Ademola Agoro, regarding him as the pride of Erinmo Ijesha, Ijesha land, and Osun State.

Oba Ajayi emphasized the importance of education as a tool for freedom and development in society, and he and his subjects were filled with happiness and appreciation for Engr Ademola Agoro’s generous gesture.
